About Masaya Villa.

Masaya Villa is near Izu-Kogen station, the main gateway to Izu. There are charming cafes, shops, museums, galleries and restaurants on my street itself or just a short walk away. Located between the mountain and the sea, you can easily see and go to famous spots such as Jogasaki Coast as well as Mount Omuro, the latter only 25 minutes walk from the villa.

Hi, I'm Mark! I worked over 40 years in a leading engineering consulting company in Japan. I have been to over 100 countries for study, work and pleasure, giving me the opportunity to immerse in cross cultural experiences and develop deeper insights of how other people live. I retired in 2017 and founded Sunrise View Masaya Villa, a place where one can escape from the bustle of the city and enjoy the luxury of peace and quietude that being close to nature always evokes.

After living outside Japan for 35 years, I now split my time between my hometown of Yokohama and my resthouse in Izu. While there may be times that I will not be at Masaya Villa to meet you, when I am there, I look forward to sharing my place with you. Feel free to ask me anything about Japan and Japanese culture; I'd be more than happy to talk about our mutual love for travel—I've been to over 100 countries and counting—over green tea or Japanese beer.

One of our highest priorities is the health, safety, and security of our guests. COVID-19 has fundamentally changed the way we live, and we are adjusting our daily operations to fit within the new normal.
